ECONAR® Energy Systems - Residential
Case Study
Rivest Residence Winnipeg, Manitoba
After re-locating several times, Dave and Jeannine decided
it was time to build the home of their dreams. While planning and designing
for two years, the home they were in at the time used a central wood furnace.
They both agreed it was too much work and a very inefficient, costly way
to heat. They were cold on many occasions so they decided their new home
would have the state of the art in HVAC. After very thorough research,
an ECONAR GeoSource 2000 heat pump was chosen as the best solution because
of its ability to provide 100% of their needed heat. ECONAR is the only
geothermal heat pump manufacturer that specializes in cold climates and
this proved valuable to Dave and Jeannine because they wanted the heat
pump to handle the full load of their home, not a part of it. Their home
is a maintenance free structure of brick and stucco and sits on a beautiful
five-acre site. It is the gathering place for the family and plays host
to 27 people at Christmas, all of which are warm and comfortable.
Geo$ense
The next best thing to comfort has been its efficiency.
The average hydro bill to operate their heat pump ranges $75 to $80 (Canadian)
per month. This covers year-round comfort of both heating and air conditioning.
